Kate Murray, 88, passed away on February 17, 2015 at The Union County Hospice Center. She was a native of Polk County, North Carolina, but she made her home in Charlotte for the last 50 years, retiring from AT&T. She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church of Charlotte.
Mrs. Murray was a gifted pianist and singer.
She did an early morning program on The Billy Graham Radio Station in Black Mountain in the early 60’s. In 1964 she became a member of the Arthur Smith television show on WBTV. She had many talents and shared them in many different venues. Most recently she played piano as a volunteer at Novant Hospital in Matthews.
She is survived by her daughter Pamela Little; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Monday, February 23, 2015, in Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd. Charlotte NC, 28227, with the Reverend Henry Ward of Hickory Grove Baptist Church officiating.
