A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at McEwen – Mint Hill Chapel with entombment to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Evans was born August 11, 1915 in Pageland, SC, a son of the late Thomas Evans and Lillian Sanders Evans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronald. Lloyd retired as a bus driver with over thirty-nine years of service with the City of Charlotte and he was a longtime member of Wilson Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Evans is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Geraldine Wall Evans; daughters, Miriam Flanagan and Sheila Selby; God-daughter, Brett Ashton; brother, John Evans; eight grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
