Lloyd Austin Jones, age 87, passed away June 25, 2014. He was born on September 22, 1926 in Charlotte, NC to the late Austin D. Jones and Virginia W. Jones. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. Bud retired from the Charlotte Fire Dept. after many years of service. He was a long time member of Newell Baptist Church. His friends and family enjoyed his ability to tell a great story. He loved his family, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bud is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alice Simpson Jones, his son Randall Jones (wife Katherine), of Matthews, granddaughters Anna Jones Kiser (husband Chad) of Winston-Salem, Sara Jones of West Point, NY and great-grandsons Bailey and Landen Kiser. A graveside service will be held at Charlotte Memorial Gardens Saturday, June 28, at 10:00am.
