She was born on Feb. 27, 1929, in Newark, NJ, to the late Paul and Pauline (Stoehr) Kiefer.
Lorraine married Carl E. Shaffer on Feb. 25, 1951, in Union, NJ.
In 1991, the couple moved from NJ and lived in Charlotte for a short time. They then moved to Mint Hill.
Survivors include her husband of sixty years, Carl E. Shaffer, Mint Hill; four children: Patricia Shaffer, Mint Hill; Carl (Martha) Shaffer, Jr., Lake Wylie, SC; Debra (Michael) Assini, Columbia, SC; and Susan Shaffer, Mint Hill; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation and no services.
