Friends and family can meet Friday, September 30, 2016, 6:30-8pm, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill, to celebrate her life. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Mrs. Godfrey was born September 3, 1925 in Charlotte, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband Luther Godfrey. She was a founding member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church, where she formerly served as a Sunday School Teacher. Mrs. Godfrey was a kind hearted woman, who raised three generations of children.
Mrs. Godfrey is survived by her brother and sisters; daughter; granddaughter and grandson; great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
