

Ms. Green grew up in Louisville, KY and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from the University of Louisville. She enjoyed the outdoors, including gardening and travel. She also enjoyed watching golf and was an avid reader. Ms. Green was active in business throughout her life, as well as church and community activities. She was the oldest member of Christ Covenant Church in Matthews, NC. Ms. Green was predeceased by her parents, Edgar H. and Elizabeth Coyle Major; and her older brother, William C. Major of Louisville, KY.
She is survived by her children, Joyce Lewis and husband, Giles, of Newton, MA, Carol Mack and husband, Randall, of Mint Hill, and Ed Green and wife, Masha, of Rock Hill, SC; grandson, Samuel Perry and wife, Jenny, of Eugene, OR; granddaughter, Melissa Pluchos and husband, Chris, of Wesley Chapel, NC; nieces, Susan and Leslie of Louisville, KY; and great-grandchildren, Athena, Sebastian, Charlie and Porter.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, at Historic Matthews Cemetery, followed by a 2:00 p.m. memorial service at Christ Covenant Church. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Unlimited Possibilities for caring for Margaret for the past three years, treating her like family.
