Bobbie was born in Charlotte, NC, on October 2, 1927, the daughter of Grace and John Newell. She was one of thirteen children and loved nothing more than to be surrounded by family. Bobbie was married to the love of her life, the late Charles “Gene” Eugene Jetton for 70 years and together, they traveled the world.
Bobbie was an excellent southern cook, many ingredients coming from her garden and never followed a recipe. She was a homemaker but also a talented athlete who loved sports and never missed a game for her children or grandchildren. Faith and family were her priorities and that was apparent to everyone who met her. In addition to her own family, she was also proud of her church family, Northside Baptist Church, where she and “Gene” were lifelong members. The life, love and laugher of Bobbie touched many and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband, “Gene” and is survived by her sons: Charles Eugene Jetton, Jr. (wife Martha); Mark Steven Jetton (wife Tamera); her daughter, Patrice Jetton Patterson (husband Jack); grandchildren: Mark Steven Jetton, Jr. (wife Nikki), Natalie Jetton Zoog (husband Evon), Jennifer Jetton Fussell (husband Chip), Georgia-Grace Jetton Robertson (husband Jared), Kailee Michelle Patterson, and Kevin Matthew Patterson; and great grandchildren: Graylyn and Trey Fussell, Everette, Eva James, Edward and Edgar Zoog, and Allie and Jett Jetton. Bobbie is further survived by her sister, Nell Sustar; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens, 1504 W. Sugar Creek Road in Charlotte, North Carolina.
On behalf of the Jetton family, thank you for your thoughts, prayers and acts of kindness, both those done and those yet to be. Your love of Gene is acknowledged and appreciated.
