The good Lord has taken our sweet angel home. Nancy Elizabeth Cooper Lopez Martin passed away on February 4th at Northeast Medical in Concord. She was born on November 2nd, 1957 to the late Sam and Rose Cooper in Miami, Florida.

She was the personnel director at Carolina Foods for over 20 years. She was the head chef of our family, enjoyed gardening, decorating, antiquing, loved to go on road trips and dearly loved her family.

Survivors include her husband Kent Martin, daughter Ashley Lopez and Derrek, sons Frank Lopez and Christie and Daniel Lopez, stepdaughter Jessica Wherrey and Benji. Her grandchildren are Jazzy Lopez, Alex Lopez, Jackson Hudson and Makenzie, Presley, and Aubrey Wherrey. Her sisters are Kitty Taylor and Tim, and Donna Rouco and Andy. Her brothers are Randy Cooper and Kay, and Tommy Cooper. She is also survived by her constant companion ChiChi.

The visitation will be at 9:30 am Saturday at McEwen Funeral Service Mint Hill Chapel with the service to follow at 10:30 am. Burial will follow the service and be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

I met Nancy When she moved in almost next door. She was a dear person with a big heart. We will miss having her around. May all her flowers be as lovely as she was . Will miss ya Nancy

Nancy I will always remember your flowers. The love you had for your Children, Grandchildren, and your Husband Kent. I promise you that I will be the Best Grandma to Jazmin, Jack. I will never let them forget you. I will tell them stories about you and let them know what you did for them. How much you loved them. I Promise you that. You were one of the most strongest Lady I have ever met. Ken and I are so blessed to have known you. I know where you are right now is so wonderful...that there are no words to describe it. See you on the other side Girl one day. All my heart and love to you. God Bless you you are so loved.

I may never have personally met Nancy, but I know she had a big caring heart. She was always the first neighbor donating items for needing rescue groups of dogs/cats.

May she be at peace in heaven now with family and 4-legged rescue friends, Sympathy to all her family.
