She was born March 13, 1934 in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina
where she graduated from Central High School in 1953. She was a member of Morning Star
Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir, served on the Altar Guild, was a member of the
LCW, and enjoyed bowling with her husband, Reece, on the church bowling team.
Nancy had a long career with the postal service where she worked as a letter carrier in
Matthews before advancing to the General Mail Facility in Charlotte.
She enjoyed playing tennis, bicycle riding, archery, camping with her family, tending her flower
garden, traveling, and her beloved dachshunds.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Reece Hampton Morgan, Jr. of Matthews,
NC; her children, Carole Morgan Rowden of West Columbia, SC, Timothy Reece Morgan
(Robin) of Monroe, NC, and Kenneth Scott Morgan of Mint Hill, NC.
She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Morgan Nicole Rowden, Joseph William
Morgan, Claire Victoria Morgan, Bailey Reneau Rowden, and by her loving sister Sara Cook of
Indian Trail, NC.
Nancy was preceded in death by, William Cornwell Agnew, Jr. (father), Flora Ann Agnew
(mother), and Nathaniel Gilliam (brother).
A funeral service for Nancy will be held Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Morning Star
Lutheran Chapel, 12900 Idlewild Road, Matthews, NC 28105, followed by a private graveside
service for the family at Forest Lawn East Cemetery, 3700 Forest Lawn Drive, Matthews, NC 28104.
