Nancy Garrison Simpson

Nancy Starr Garrison Simpson went home to be with the Lord on April 6, 2013, after a brief battle with cancer. Mrs. Simpson was born on January 10, 1948; daughter of Roy and Stacie Garrison of Matthews, NC. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Starr Simpson.

Survivors include her husband, Warren Simpson, two sons and their spouses: Andrew Simpson, M.D. and Kimberly Simpson, their daughter and son, Starr and Andrew Simpson, Jr. of Wilmington, NC; Troy and Tiffany Simpson and their son, Sam Simpson and soon to be grandson, Sean Simpson of Mint Hill. A sister, Cathy Baker and husband Rick Baker of Matthews, NC, as well as many nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Simpson was a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathology for forty years. She was employed by Charlotte OB-GYN where she retired after thirty-three years. Mrs. Simpson was a faithful, charter member of Idlewild Baptist church of Matthews. She expressed her love of family through photography and found her greatest joy in time spent with her grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 1:00 to 2:45pm at Idlewild Baptist Church in Matthews. Funeral Services to celebrate Nancy’s life will begin at 3:00pm in the church Sanctuary, with Reverend Keith Whitener officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
