

Roberta is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Roger Zane Hart, and her parents, Kate and Robey Wilson.
She is survived by daughters, Ginger Taylor, husband, Gregg, and Jane Brendle, husband, Ron; granddaughters, Sarah Taylor, Sally Dengler, husband, Mitch, and Chelsea Brendle.
Roberta attended Clevenger College of Business, earning an Executive Secretarial Degree, Central Piedmont Community College, earning an Associate of Arts Degree, and UNC Charlotte, earning degrees in History and Early Childhood Education.
Among Roberta’s many interests and passions were books, maps, traveling, politics, gardening, the Charlotte Symphony, history, and research about travel destinations. She was an active member of the Clear Creek Militia Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Roberta made her home in Charlotte, and later in Mint Hill, North Carolina. At Belk Stores Services, Roberta was an assistant book buyer, a coordinator for the installation of bar codes; she was librarian at Union County Public Library, was instrumental in processing bar codes for the entire book collection, and she wrote a weekly library column for the Union Observer. After retirement, she worked at the Charlotte Museum of History in the gift shop, and was responsible for book orders.
A devoted wife, mother, and friend, Roberta will be remembered for her beautiful smile and her strong, independent spirit.
Memorial donations may be made to the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 20, at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road. Visitation will be held immediately following the service.
