Ruth McMahon McMahon Hood

Ruth Marie McMahon Hood, age 78, of Charlotte, died Thursday, January 3, 2013, at her residence. A graveside service will be held Monday, January 7, at 11 AM at Sunset Memory Gardens with the Rev. Richard Hood officiating.

Ruth was born on December 7, 1934 in New York City, where she grew up. She moved to Mobile, Alabama after graduating from high school and met the love of her life, Warren Hood, also known as Robin. They were married in 1957. Together, they had two boys, John and Richard. They moved to Charlotte NC in 1968, where Warren was employed with Charlotte Aircraft.

Ruth was a faithful wife and mother who loved life and her family and always wanted them to have a good life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren. They were married for 51 years.

She is survived by her sons, John (Denise) of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Richard (Alissa) of Schroon Lake, NY; along with her seven grandchildren.

Special thanks to family friends – Jody and Tracie Henson and their children, and her care givers from Visiting Angels, Faith, Crystal, Lola and Nicole. She will be missed by those who called her Mom, Grandma and Friend.
