Thomas Ray Henson
September 21, 1941 – June 17, 2020
Thomas Ray Henson went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 17th, 2020, at the age of 78. Tom, affectionately known as TR, was born in Banner Elk, North Carolina, on September 21st, 1941, and graduated from Cranberry High School.
In 1960, Tommy met Vicky Snell Henson on a blind date arranged by Vicky’s older sister, and they were inseparable from that day. They married on August 18th, 1961, and soon thereafter, Tom began his 37-year career with the United States Postal Service. Tom and Vicky shared 58 years of love and friendship and enjoyed traveling and spending time on Bald Head Island and in the North Carolina mountains.
In addition to being a dedicated husband and father, Tom had a remarkable memory and extensive knowledge of classic cars and history and a passion for Clint Eastwood movies, oldies music, and ocean fishing. Generous and selfless, Tom is remembered by all as a kind and gentle man and an attentive listener who genuinely loved others.

Tommy is my favorite 1st cousin. My favorite memory of him is growing up together. He always came to my brother Teddy’s house to visit in his little red convertible. Tommy was a good man with a kind heart and made of true grit. My deepest condolences to his wife Vicky, his children, and grandchildren. May God give you peace and comfort.
