Tracey was born on September 3, 1969 in Fall River, MA to Cecilia M. Coroa and the late Gilbert M. Coroa. Tracey grew up in Somerset, MA where she spent a lot of time with extended family and playing saxophone in high school where she was also the drum major of her marching band. After high school Tracey attended Albany College of Pharmacy in New York, where she met her future husband, Rich Andrews. After graduation and a few years in New York, Tracey and Rich moved to North Carolina where Tracey worked for several pharmacies: Kaiser Permanente, Nalle Clinic, Mint Hill Pharmacy, Giant Genie, and Long’s Pharmacy.
Tracey was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church where she also taught Faith Formation. She was a member of Pine Lake Country Club where she played on the tennis team, and was an active volunteer with the swim team. She was the Treasurer of the Bain Elementary PTA.
One of Tracey’s proudest moments was when she competed in the Transplant Olympics (after having a kidney transplant in 2003) and came home with 2 golds and multiple other medals in swimming. Tracey enjoyed being with her two daughters the most. Watching them compete on athletic fields or excel in the classroom were her favorite. You could always find Tracey in the stands or in a chair on a soccer field, at a basketball court, at a volleyball court, at a swimming pool, or at a horse show.
Tracey is survived by her husband of 25 years, Rich Andrews and daughters, Alexandra and Elizabeth all of Mint Hill; her mother, Cecilia M. Coroa (Somerset, MA), her sister, Lisa Coroa-Bockley (Erich) of N. Reading, MA, her brother, John (Susan) Coroa of Somerset, MA., parents-in-law, Robert and Priscilla Andrews of Dundee, NY, sister-in-law, Rebecca Weichenthal (Karl) of Dundee, NY, and brother-in-law, Rob Andrews (Jeannie) of Boardman, OH. Tracey is survived by nine nieces and nephews: Matthew, John E., Kimberly, Karisa, Megan, Caitlyn, Kurtis, Dylan, and Colin. Tracey is also survived by Karin (Davidson) Alexander, who donated one of her kidneys to Tracey in 2003, giving Tracey eleven wonderful dialysis-free years.
A special thank you goes out to Peggy Gay and Dr. Todd Griffith at Fresenius Medical Care for helping Tracey with her fight over the last 6 years while she has been on daily peritoneal dialysis. Also, a thank you to the nurses at Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte for helping Tracey be comfortable over the last two weeks.
