Wilbur Lee Allion, better known as Bud, of Mint Hill, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. Bud was born 1931 in Fayette, Ohio. He grew up working on a farm as a kid, and decided he wanted to be an electrical engineer. Some of his appropriate other nicknames were "Flashlight Willy" and "Sparky". You could always, and still can :) find at least 10 flashlights somewhere in the near vicinity.
He lived an amazing life, travelling to six continents for business or sheer fun with the love of his life, Margie, accompanying him whenever possible. His passions were reading, photography, talking with his grandchildren, and a good cocktail (shaken, not stirred please!) His home was often filled with friends and adopted family members. You did not have to be born an Allion to be part of the family or loved. We will miss his generous heart and wicked sense of humor.
Special thanks go to all the medical staff that provided such compassionate care. Bud was fascinated by the advances in science and medicine and hoped that his treatments might make life better for someone in the future. In return, he offered laughs and welcome levity to his care providers because he knew how hard a job they all have. They are the true Angels especially in todays environment.
A memorial service for Bud will be held Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, NC 28227.
Memories, laughter, and stories are welcomed!
