November 10, 1936 – June 14, 2025
Ann B. Levine went peacefully Over The Rainbow on June 14, 2025, at the age of 88, in her beloved home of 25 years in Sun City, Palm Desert, California.
Born on November 10, 1936, in Akron, Ohio, Ann was the cherished daughter of Libbie and Irving Krainess, and the beloved younger sister of Jerry and Ruth — all of whom preceded her in death.
Ann married the love of her life, Ronald Levine, on December 18, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio. The couple moved to California in 1960, just months before welcoming their first child, Gail, on June 30, 1960. Their family grew with the birth of their son, Larry, on July 1, 1961.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ann’s life was defined by creativity, humor, and an unwavering love for her family. She raised her children in the San Fernando Valley, always finding joy in the everyday and never hesitating to burst into song — especially show tunes — in the most unexpected places. Though she once dreamed of becoming a singer, music remained a vibrant part of her life, with favorites like Ray Charles and Sammy Davis Jr. filling her home and heart.
Ann was a passionate artist who loved painting and drawing. She delighted in collecting Wizard of Oz memorabilia and dolls, and her home reflected her colorful, whimsical personality.
Her legendary love of shopping was a source of laughter and affection for her family, who joked that she had a “shopping disease” — always on the hunt for the next great treasure or bargain.
Ann is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Ronald Levine; her children Gail Levine and Larry Levine; her daughter-in-law Leticia Levine; her granddaughters Jacqueline and Miranda; and her great-grandchildren Joseph, Kalina, and Luciano. She was deeply adored and will be remembered for her humor, artistic soul, and the boundless love she gave.
Ann never lost her childlike wonder. She was, and always will be, a bright light in the lives of those who knew her.
A private family service will be held in her honor Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Groman Eden Mortuary and Eden Memorial Park, 11500 Sepulveda Blvd, Mission Hills, CA 91345.
