Bruce Mathews Haywood of West Hills, California, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014; Father's Day. Services will be private. Mr. Haywood is an Honorably Discharged Veteran of the United States Air Force. He served during WWII, flying as a gunner over England. He met his wife of 61 years, Frances Haywood, on a coffee run. They worked across the street from each other in Burbank, CA, and would walk together to the coffee shop. Mr. Haywood is survived by his wife, Frances, and children, Ron (Carol) Berry and Janice (Michael) Rhoades. Mr Haywood enjoyed many cruises, all over the world with Frances; their favorite stop being Italy. They enjoyed going to casinos, and playing slots. Mr. Haywood liked football, baseball, and tinkering on projects. He loved animals, and had a duck named Fannie; so named because of the tail feathers motion. Fannie, the duck, followed him like a dog, and the memory brings a smile to his families' faces.
Arrangements under the direction of Groman Eden Mortuary, Mission Hills, CA.
