Edith was born in Saskatchewan, Canada, to Same and Ettie, the middle of 3 girls. The family relocated to Manitoba while Edith was quite young. She loved her childhood in Winnipeg, although her family endured hard times following the death of her father, Sam, when she was 12. Edith married Irv, the love of her life, in 1949, and they moved to Southern California in 1954- the land of sunshine and opportunity. Edith was a loyal member of the Temple Beth Ami Sisterhood, and started many great and lasting friendships there, as well as staying close to her friends from Canada, who had also settled in California.
Edith was an extremely productive woman, keeping a beautiful home, cooking and baking every day, even after she began working part time at The Broadway department store in 1971, where she remained a dedicated employee for 27 years. Edith volunteered at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, in one of their most critical units, every Tuesday for years; earning a 1,0000 hour pin.
She traveled the world, and enjoyed the best restaurants and theater Los Angeles had to offer with her love Irv, until his passing in 1993.
Edith was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, who will be greatly missed. Edith is preceded in passing her beloved husband Irvin, Of Blessed Memory; her sister, Mollye Lyman, Of Blessed Memory; and her brother-in-law, Wayne Kenny, Of Blessed Memory; she is survived by her daughter, Laura (Sam) Craven; sons, Keith (Jackie) Fisher and Joel (Mary) Fisher; her sister, Toby (Wayne-OBM) Kenny; her grandchildren, Suzanne Fisher, Dylan Fisher, Sophia Craven, Harper Craven, and Scarlett Craven; her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends from far and wide.
Arrangements are under the guidance of Groman Eden Mortuary.
