Eleanor Rabkin, 86 of Encino, passed away suddenly, Thursday, February 14, 2013, in Los Angeles. Eleanor was born December 7, 1926 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was a resident of Encino, California since 1955.
Eleanor was a marriage and family counselor for 30 years. She enjoyed volunteer counseling, bridge, book cub, Mahjong, her movie group, Havurah, writing club, continuing education, long walks, but most of all her family.
Eleanor, along with her husband, Larry Rabkin, were founding member of Valley Beth Shalom.
She is survived by her loving daughter Leslie Elkan (Mark); her sons Richard (Gloria), Mark (Randi) and Michael (Chip); grandchildren Brian, Lisa, Heather, Aaron and Teague and great-grandchild, Larry.
Funeral services will take place Tuesday, February 19, 2013 – 1:00 PM in the Eternal Light Chapel, Eden Memorial Park, 11500 Sepulveda Blvd, Mission Hills, California, with the Rabbi Edward Feinstein, Valley Beth Shalom. Burial will follow at Eden Memorial Park.
