My condolences to the Gordon family on this sudden and unexpected loss. I lost contact with Corky in his adult life, but I have fond memories of the two summers that we spent as best buddies at National Music Camp, Interlochen.

My sister ran across Corky's obituary in the LA Times. I was shocked and saddened by his untimely death.
I had the pleasure of working with Corky at LAC-USC Med Center in 1973-74 on a hectic and often chaotic medical unit (Med Ocho) He always kept his cool and could be counted on to "fine tune" patients at the brink of death.. As chief resident and then fellow, he guided the residents and med students with such care and genuine support. I admired his calm and empathy; he had so much compassion for his patients especially the homeless and indigent. Many transitioned at his parent's home when they had no where to recover post hospitalization. He had such a huge heart!
Every time I hear Roy Orbison, the Everly brothers & Sam Cooke not to exclude Malaguena Salerosa by Bud & Travis, I will think of my dear friend. He is no doubt jamming away in Heaven with his bass guitar, eating Mexican food and keeping a watchful eye on those he loved.
My condolences to his wife, Judi, his children and his sisters. I had the pleasure of meeting Erica and know their relationship was especially close and special. No words can express the void he leaves. I take comfort in knowing we will see each other again. To coin his favorite phrase, "Every River finds its way to the Sea- eventually.

Corky's kindness and empathy flowed out through every pore of his being, it seemed. The loss of all of that goodness in the world is hard to conceive. His train family sends their deepest condolences to Judi, Emily and Ben at this terribly difficult time. His love for you was a palpable thing and a joy to behold.

Corky was the truest, kindest, most generous friend. I was blessed to have him come into my life in 2005 and even more blessed to know his beautiful family. His love for them and pride in their achievements was very evident. My heart goes out to them as they cope with his death at what was still a young age.
