Florence was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada to Reizel and Hershel Sheinfeld. The youngest of five children, she was the sister of Sylvia Morris, Mary Ann Sheinfeld, Sally Mandel, and Leslie Field -all of blessed memory.
She earned a Bachelor’s in Education from Wayne State University, and worked briefly as a teacher before devoting herself fully to raising her children.
Florence’s dedication to her extended family was unique. As the family’s go-to person, she was always present and ready to help a family member with any need. Her love and devotion to her family was evident through her selfless and perpetual caretaking of relatives. For over five decades, Florence lovingly cared for many family members with extended illnesses, including her mother, sisters, father-in-law, a son, and a great aunt.
Florence loved attending classical concerts. She also loved the theatre, having acted in several community stage productions in her younger years. Always athletic, Florence was an avid tennis player, swimmer, and downhill skier.
In later years, Florence moved from her longtime home in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, to Los Angeles to be closer to family.
She was the beloved mother of Lisa Wild, Floyd Glen-Lambert (Milissa), the late Paul Glen, and the late Clyde Glen (Einat); loving bubbie of Jordan Glen, Isabelle Hamad (Shehab), Rosie Glen-Lambert, and Danielle Glen; adoring great-grandmother of Musa Marwan Hamad. She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Interment was held at Clover Hill Park Cemetery, Birmingham, Michigan. Rabbi Alana Alpert officiated.
