Dear Family, 
Please forgive me for using Leon’s memorial site to try and contact you. I am the author of a book, due to be published  early September (see below) about the Jewish Orphanage in Leiden, The Netherlands. Leon and his siblings Klara (Claire) and Heinrich lived there from 4/8 to 6/22 1933.  They are briefly mentioned in the book, and one photograph of Heinrich (taken during the war in Belgium) is included. 
I have tried (last year) to contact the children of Claire Kleeman, via the editors of the Baltimore Jewish Times, to ask the family if they would permit me to do some additional research in the Belgium archives, and if they would be interested to receive the results of such research, but I did not receive a reply. I have no clue if my message ever reached the family.

It is with the greatest of sadness to hear of the passing of Leon.  May you cherish the wonderful memories you have forever.  He was a great man and I will remember his fun sense of humor and the fun times we had at many a gathering. May you find comfort in this time of sorrow. May he rest in peace.
