Muriel Marcus

Muriel Marcus was born on June 9, 1930 in New York City to Morris and Lillian Joseph. She grew up in New York City, fell in love with her husband, Martin Marcus. Tied the knot on November 21, 1948. They had their first son, Jeffrey, in 1951, and their second son, Elliot, in 1955. Thereafter, they moved across the country, settled in Los Angeles, and gave birth to their daughter, Rene, in 1960.

Muriel, while raising her children in West Hills, served as a motherly figure to many. She greatly enjoyed looking after the neighborhood kids as well.

Throughout her life, she relished being around family and friends. She savored being able to entertain them for holidays, cook delicious meals with plenty of leftovers, and take part in family traditions.

She loved painting, arts and crafts, playing cards, golfing, traveling, reading, listening to music, watching movies, playing mahjong, cooking, baking, and gardening. Her wisdom, sharp tongue and quick wit, courage and determination, love and compassion, all will be missed. She leaves behind family, friends, and a lasting impression on all she encountered.

Wife, Mother, Aunt, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend to countless others.

Trouper to the end. Inspiration to all.

Muriel Marcus, age 95, of Simi Valley, California passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025.

Services for Muriel will be held Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Groman Eden Chapel. Graveside Services will follow.
