October 20, 1925 – August 28, 2025
Norma passed away peacefully on the morning of August 28, 2025, at the age of 99. She was the devoted mother of three and the proud grandmother of six. Throughout her long and full life, she touched the lives of countless people with her genuine interest in others, her feistiness, and her many accomplishments.
Norma will be remembered for her curiosity, her strength, and her love of a life filled with joy, laughter, and creativity. A tremendous lover of music, she filled her home with it, making it a staple at every family gathering. She especially enjoyed attending live performances of rock, jazz, and Latin musicians, delighting in the rhythm and melodies. Norma was also an accomplished artist, creating detailed oil paintings of landscapes and scenes that reflected the beauty she saw in the world.
Her sense of adventure carried into her love of travel, with one of her fondest memories being a trip to Spain and Portugal with her husband, Al Jacobs. She often spoke of that journey and the joy it brought her. Together, Norma and Al embodied the entrepreneurial spirit, building a life rich with projects and businesses. They ran a bookstore in Beverly Hills and later a restaurant in Ventura Harbor. Later in life, Norma established her own successful medical records business, a testament to her remarkable work ethic and determination.
Passionate and spirited, Norma cared deeply for her family and friends. She was generous with her time and support, yet never hesitated to speak candidly when she believed someone needed guidance. Her compassion, wisdom, and honesty left a lasting mark on all who knew her.
In her later years, Norma resided in assisted living, where she continued to share her warmth and humor with those around her. She was looking forward to celebrating her 100th birthday this coming October, a milestone she nearly reached.
Norma will be laid to rest beside her husband, Al Jacobs, at Mission Hills, California, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, creativity, music, and love — a legacy that will live on in her children, her grandchildren, and in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
