

Norm was kind, humorous and wonderful. He was born in Canada and then as a small child moved to Santa Monica, California. He attended local Santa-Monica schools- Washington Elementary, John Adams Jr.High and Santa Monica High School. . He excelled at baseball and played clarinet and liked to watch sports on TV. He and his family were active members of the Miskon Tephilo Synagogue. Norm love to have coffee at Norm's Restaurant with his friends always joking and would like to see his name up in lights. He particularly enjoyed hanging out with his buddies the Liboff brothers- Marty and Jerry .
After graduating from Samohi he went to Santa Monica College and UCLA. he continued his education at Cal State University Northridge in Education. he began his career at Five Acres Residential Treatment Center. touching the lives of many troubled young people. Norm continued his education and moved to Lancaster teaching fourth graders at mariposa Elementary. there he made several friends among them Mary Scarpelli and David Greenleaf. In fact he was the Best Man at David and Pat's wedding. Norm always kidded the Greenleaf's that Norm's dad, Frank said, It will never last! Norm was active with Mariposa staff and playing volleyball against other schools staffs. Still continuing his education at Occidental and Pepperdine colleges, he got a reading and learning disability specialist credential. He became a Resource Specialist and then a School Psychologist for Lancaster School District.
Norm spent countless hours and dollars studying and purchasing materials to better serve his students. In fact, Norm stated the first teacher, parent supply store with the help of his life long friend Marty Liboff in Lancaster called New Teacher Horizon.This store was the first of its kind in the Antelope Valley and set the way for educational industry.
In the early 1980's Norm completed a Doctorate degree in education through Newport University and moved back to Santa Monica and began a career as a school psychologist. He was responsible for assessing and developing individualized learning plans for special needs students. Norm continued in this field until his illness in the late1990's . Despite a debilitating illness he worked part-time in private practice specializing in true academic love Attention Deficit Disorder. During this time, he helped his parents Frank and Annie with their health needs and looked and his sister Rosalind. Norm always hoped to open a private clinic specializing in ADD one day.
Finally, Norm green served countless people helping them to have a more successful academic path to adult life. We will Miss Norm. He left us all with Memories of his Big Smile, Laughter and Love.
