Dear Carol and Family,
As I think of your Mom, my Aunt Jean, my friend, and the person I most admired in life, what I remember most is her laughter, her funny stories, the wonderful meals prepared for us, family gatherings where we ate, laughed, swam, and shared so many American and Jewish holidays. Her ability to give, and give some more, was never-ending. Most of all I loved the way she loved your Father, you, and friends and family. She was a guidepost for me, and will continue to be a light in my life. I am a better person for knowing her, and the world is a better place because she was in it. My love to you Carol, and to Chuck, Gina, Joe, and Leslie. Peace be with you all.
Love,
Katie

I remember Jean as a loving cousin and friend. She was always generous with her time and encouragement and taught me much about the Benbasset family.

Regina was also a great cook and kept Turkish cuisine alive in Los Angeles.

Dear Carol and Family,
This picture of your mother is how I want to remember her, always with a great big smile and a zest for life! What a remarkable lady she was. And you, Carol, gave her the best of care and were such a good and loving daughter to her.
Blessings to you for strength and comfort at this very sad time.
With love,
Shirley
