I was a student technician working for Professor Braunstein about 1965 for 1 1/2 years.  Although not a good student I experienced exceptional professional success in high tech electronics due to his mentoring.  When I was drafted in the army Professor Braunstein arranged for me to spend a day at the Hughes Research Labs with his brother.  This was his successful plan to incentivize me to return to finish my degree at UCLA.  I've had a wonderful life due substantially to his help.  He really got me started on the right path.  My wife of 51 years and I have 9 kids, 6 adopted, work titles Chief Scientist, Chief Engineer, Chief Technical Officer.

My Aunt Jacquie and Uncle Rubin were very special people in my life. My first memory of them was their arrival in L A, from Princeton to meet their son Mark who my parents were caring for in a drawer lined with baby blankets when I was about 8 or 10. 

They were wonderful people. Uncle Rubin was a brilliant physicist at UCLA, and Aunt Jaccquie was a public health nurse who (later) understood my need to leave L.A. for other places.  I always loved to hear their expansive views on the world.

Uncle Rubin, thank you for your many contributions to this world and to me. You made a difference.
