

Surica "Sica" Goldenberg of Los Angeles, California, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014, 13 Tammuz 5774. Services will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at 2PM, in the Groman Eden Chapel of Groman Eden Mortuary. Services will conclude at graveside in Eden Memorial Park, and will be officiated by Rabbi Shawna Brynjegard-Bialik. Sica is survived by her sons, Allan (Tammy) and Leslie Goldenberg; her grandchildren, Adin, Luca, and Ella; her brother, Izu (Camila) Goldstein; her niece, Serena (Craig) Bard; her great-nieces, Skylar and Sasha; her In-Laws, Fred and Jeanette Salzman and family; former husband and father of her sons, Dinu (Francine) Goldenberg; best friends, Dave and Mary Ann Brooks, and friend and caretaker, Sonya. Born in Vaslui, Romania, Sica was a track runner, and left Romania before the fall of Communism. She had a zest for life, and her varied interests included playing Mah Jong, walking, listening to Elvis Presley (her favorite singer), tennis, and traveling. She loved to dance, ballet in particular. She was an animal lover, with a fondness for dogs. She did a lot of volunteer work at the Jewish Home for the Aging and other Jewish organizations.
