John and I called him Mr. Bill out of respect. We met him down at the community pool about nine years ago, and he encouraged John to become a swimmer.Mr. Bill and I would go shopping in the neighborhood, and talk about politics and religion.He sometimes referred to himself as a "Southern Gentleman". He was always kind and gracious to us.John and I will miss him.
