Aubrey McInnis

Aubrey McInnis was born in Foley, Alabama on October 27, 1950. He was a longtime Mobile, Alabama resident. His battle with cancer came to an end and he peacefully passed into the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on the afternoon of July 14, 2026, surrounded by family. Aubrey will be missed by many family members and dear friends.

Aubrey is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Leroy McInnis. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Larry McInnis.

Aubrey is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Diane McInnis, his daughters, Brook (Matt) Phillips and Holly (Matt) Sawyer, grandchildren Abigail Dolores Phillips, Jonathan Murray Phillips, Lily Elizabeth Sawyer, and Caroline Aubrey Sawyer, his brother and best friend Rolf (Sherry) McInnis, sisters Juanita (Larry) Peavy, Jeanette (Darrell) Leonard, and Annette (Johnny) Schwartz. Aubrey is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and dear friends, along with his beloved dog Buddy.

Aubrey graduated from Foley High School. He worked in the chemical industry after being with Degussa and Mitsubishi in Mobile for over 35 years.

Aubrey was a very fun person and loved being with his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling with his family and friends to Auburn football games, on cruises, ski trips to West Virginia, trips to Six Flags and Braves games in Atlanta, and spending time on the water around Mobile. He loved Auburn, fishing, playing (and inventing) games with his grandchildren, Mardi Gras, dogs, helping people, being a handyman to anyone in need, nature, especially birds, and above all else, his wife, Diane.

Our family wishes to thank Mobile Infirmary and Southern Hospice for the excellent care they gave to Aubrey for the past month.

A Celebration of his life will be held at Ascension Funeral Home, 1016 Hillcrest Road, Mobile, Alabama 36695. Visitation will begin at 11am with the service at noon on Friday, July 24.
