Eileen Anne Taylor (nee McCarthy)July 13, 1936 – August 6, 2025With deep sadness, the family of Eileen Anne Taylor announces her peaceful passing on August 6, 2025, at the age of 89. Eileen was the beloved wife of the late John Taylor, Sr., who passed away in 2023, just shy of their 62nd anniversary. Together, they built a joyful home full of love, laughter, and the beautiful pandemonium of raising six children—including two sets of twins.Born in Queens, New York, Eileen was the only child of William McCarthy and Katherine Murray. Her strong Catholic faith shaped her life from childhood, through her time as a novice in the convent, and throughout her marriage. She blazed her brightest as a mother of six young children. She swathed the work and chaos of motherhood in a playful sense of ritual. Painful splinters were blown to the wind, wood was knocked on, salt was tossed. No car trip was too mundane for a quick prayer. Achievements garnered a gushing heart and special treats. Her children grew, knowing that they were worthy of God’s love. She returned to school to become a nurse once her children were older and worked for the University of Miami Hospital network, always prioritizing her family’s well-being and education. After retiring, she and John embraced their love of travel, enjoying many adventures together. She loved animals and shared her home over the years with ten beloved Great Danes, three parrots and one wandering cat.Eileen is survived by her six children (John Jr., Rosemary, Jeannie, Kathleen, Ellen, and Tim), and the ten grandchildren whom she adored (Danny, Alec, Jackson, Melanie, Jake, Eric, Andy, Jasmine, Boone and Molly Bee). The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 in the St. Lawrence Room at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Graveside service and interment will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Alabama State Veterans Cemetery, Spanish Fort, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Archangel Radio in Fairhope, Alabama, in her memory.
