James Lowell Ward

James L. Ward, known by friends and family as Jimmy, passed away on November 28, 2022 at the age of 82. He left this world to join his beloved wife, Kathleen M. Ward, who preceded him in death. He was born at home in Midway, Mississippi to James and Louise Ward. Jimmy was the big brother to one sister, Rita Ward. He was the proud father of 6 beautiful children, Cheryl Travis, Sherry Ward, Melanie Pace, Jimmie Watkins, Timmie Watkins, and Denise Freij, 15 wonderful grandchildren and 14 precious great-grandchildren. Jimmy was a talented bass guitarist whose love of country music spanned generations; one of his favorite pastimes was picking and grinning with his Dad. He enjoyed tinkering on cars, but motorcycles was his first love, from a little scooter delivering papers as a young man to his vacations on the Gold Wing crisscrossing the country with his wife.Visitation will be Monday, December 5, 2022 from 10:30 until 12PM at Ascension Funeral Home in Mobile at 1016 Hillcrest Road. The Service will begin at 12PM in the Chapel followed by a procession to Springhill Memorial Gardens where interment will take place.
