Jean Claude Roger Martin

Jean-Claude was born in Noumea, New Caledonia. He moved to Mobile with his family in 1954 and has been a resident since. He lived a life rooted in faith, service, and meaningful relationships. He was deeply committed to his community and generously gave his time to numerous organizations. He was a member of the Women’s Health Center in Daphne, Alabama; the Knights of Columbus at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish; and the Crewe of Columbus Mardi Gras Organization. Through these affiliations, he demonstrated a lifelong dedication to service, fellowship, and tradition.

Jean-Claude greatly valued lifelong friendships. He remained closely connected with his McGill High School Class of 1964 Lunch Group and the Phi Kappa Sigma Alumni and Lunch Group. He was also an active member of the Alba Hunting and Fishing Club and the Antique Car Club, including the Backroads Touring Club, where he enjoyed sharing his love for classic cars and scenic drives.

Professionally, his career was spent in the surgical and medical supplies industry, and the insurance adjusting business. In both fields he was known for his integrity, strong work ethic, and commitment to serving others.

Outside of work and service, Jean-Claude found joy in the outdoors and in hands-on pursuits. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, boating, horseback riding, woodworking, photography, motorcycling, traveling, and restoring and enjoying automobiles and boats. These passions reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship, adventure, and the simple pleasures of life.

Above all else, Jean-Claude was a loving husband, father, and friend. He will be remembered for his kindness, reliability, strength, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.

Jean-Claude is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; his two sons, Matthew, and Paul; his sister Jackie Martin Adcock, and many extended family members and dear friends.
