Jimmy Durham Swink, Sr., a native of North Carolina and a resident of Silas, AL died Saturday, January 23, 2016 in a Waynesboro, MS hospital. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, son and brother. His family was important to him. Jimmy loved his family and friends with all of his heart. He liked to fish, hunt and ride his motorcycle. His mother and father taught him the importance of working and to do the best job possible, whatever that job may have been. Jimmy worked hard all of his life to support his family as truck driver. He always said, “Truck driving was a childhood dream.” Sadly, that childhood dream contributed to his poor health and kept him away from home and family. Unfortunately that is the downside to truck driving. Jimmy believed in God as his Lord and Savior. He was overcome by several serious medical problems and he passed away at the young age of 50. He was preceded in death by his father, Durham Swink. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Elle Dahlberg Swink; six children, Jennifer Marie Swink, Tonya Renee Green, Jimmy Durham Swink, Jr., Roy Howard Swink, Sara Louise Swink and Devin Lee Eubanks; his mother, Lillian Marie Swink; one sister, Penny Bailey; two brothers, Michael Swink and Steven Swink; his mother-in-law, Judith McDowell; six grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 11 A.M. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Jennifer Swink, Sara Swink, Jimmy Swink Jr., Roy Swink, Michael Swink, Steven Swink, Devin Eubanks and Scotty Brown. The burial took place at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens following the service.
