

Larry attended Murphy High School. He founded Benchmark Oil Flushing Services in 1989 and continued serving as its President for over 30 years. He had a lifelong passion for antique cars and attended many car shows throughout the country with his wife, Wanda. Larry built and restored a countless number of classic cars throughout his life. He shared this passion with his close friends, George, Bill, and Chuck. Larry and Wanda were the subjects of the 1984 car restoration documentary “Cruising Antiques,” which aired on public television.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, David and Maxine Miller; brother, Ronald Miller; sister, Carrie Ann Bunch; son-in-law, John Murphy; as well as close friends, George Miller and Bill Logan. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Wanda Jones Miller; children, Deborah Murphy, Larry (Georgie) Miller, Jr., and David W. (Emily) Miller; grandchildren, Jennifer Murphy, Matthew (Olya) Murphy, Brian Wyman Miller, Austin Miller, Luke Miller, Hailee Kilpatrick, and Wylee Kilpatrick; great-granddaughters, Juliette, Isabelle, and Paisley; his beloved cousin, Jessie “Bo” Taylor; close friends, Sydrus Gilmore, Calvin Young, and Chuck Wimberly; as well as other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held, Monday, August 16, 2021 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Ascension Funeral Home, 1016 Hillcrest Rd. Mobile, Alabama. The family will be accepting friends one hour prior to service time. Interment will immediately follow at Pine Crest West Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alabama Kidney Foundation at www.alkidney.org.
