

Lou Gwendoline Butler, affectionately known as “Gwynn” and “Sissy,” departed this earthly life to return to her Heavenly Father and enter Glory on October 2, 2023. She was 64 years old.Gwynn is survived by her mother Ann Van Blake Portz; life partner William “Billy” Gradeless Jr.; children Jennifer Lynn (Bobby) Berry and Michael “Todd” (Brittany) Butler, both residents of Tallahassee, Florida; grandchildren Raigan (Cuen) Funderburke, Allyssa Butler, Hailey Butler, Brileigh Butler; great grandchildren Varian Funderburke, Astrid Funderburke, Anduin Funderburke and unborn twins Albion & Adhemar; siblings June V. (Scottie) Chappell, James “Jimbo” (Lorena) Van Blake and Jerie “Deedo” Van Blake Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.She is preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Jimmy Lee Butler.Gwynn served as a faithful employee of the Florida Board of Education, working as a bookkeeper and secretary for the Leon County School Systems in Tallahassee.
