Margaret P. Reed

Margaret P. Reed, age 84, died peacefully at home on August 10, 2018. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward Eugene Reed (September 19, 2012) and both of her parents. Margaret was the only child born to Edna and Felix Green. She came into this world on December 3, 1933, in Jacksonville, Florida, where she spent her childhood years.

Margaret married Eugene Reed at a young age, and together they raised three children, Bruce, Linda, and Wayne. In 1953 Margaret gave her heart to the Lord Jesus Christ and spent the rest of her days seeking God’s will and striving to walk in the path He set before her. Her highest goal in life was to train up her children in the fear and admonition of the Lord so that they, in turn, would follow after the will of God. She faithfully assisted her husband in ministry during a portion of her life in which they served as pastors of Satsuma Assembly of God Church. Souls were born into the kingdom of God during their tenure as pastors, making this a cherished labor of love in laying up treasures in heaven.

Margaret’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, Bruce C. Reed (married to Wichitra Reed), Linda Reed Thomas (married to Wm. David Thomas), and Wayne E. Reed (married to Karen G. Reed) and her eight grandchildren, Carla Reed Roberson, Carie Reed, Wendy Thomas Fricks, Bradley David Thomas, Tiffany Thomas Lind, Wayne E. Reed, Jr., Kimberly Reed Price, and Jessica Reed Jackson. Margaret is also survived by twenty-one great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Margaret will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 9700 Celeste Road, Saraland, AL 36571. Visitation will be the same day at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be immediately following the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
