

Perilla Elizabeth Alexander Wilson - age 86; a native of Atlanta, GA and a resident of Mobile, AL died Thursday, November 14, 2019. Mrs. Wilson was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was the founder of the Holy Family School Library where she served as librarian for many years. She was a recipient of the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Medal, the Christ the King Medal, and the Peace Foundation Award. Perilla served as founder and president of the Friends of Catholic Cemetery, founder and coordinator of the Trialogue, a member of the Odyssey USA curriculum committee, and the Christian-Jewish Dialogue. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Mulry Gerard Wilson, Sr.; one granddaughter, Krisanna Elizabeth Roberts; and her parents, Frances Touart Alexander and Godfrey Weir Alexander, Jr.; and one nephew, Marshall P. Alexander. She is survived by ten children, Laura Elizabeth (Mark) Roberts, Sheila (Michael) Wildfeuer, Bridget (Rodney) Owen, Douglas (Karen) Wilson, Jr., Shannon (Mick) Beisel, Kelly (Scott) Darling, Sean (Stacey) Wilson, Brian (Leigh Anne) Wilson, Mollie (David) Bell, and Brady (Laurel) Wilson; twenty-four grandchildren, Dominic, Declan, Michaela, and Marcella Sweeney, Marshall and Mareike Owen, Douglas and Donna Elizabeth Wilson, Quinlan and Moira Elizabeth Darling, Bo Elizabeth Ann, and Kathryn Wilson, Sullivan and Bennett Wilson, Lona Elizabeth Garrison, Catie Bell Trent, Jackie Bell Hollingsworth, Adelaide Elizabeth and David Bell, Lillian Elizabeth, Charlie, and Ignatius Wilson, Mary and Alan Wildfeuer; three great-grandchildren, one brother, Godfrey Weir (Emily) Alexander, III; nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 18, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1400 Joyce Road, Mobile, AL 36608. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M. on Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will be in Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of Catholic Cemetery, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or Holy Family Catholic Church.
