Prentice "Beau" Steven Strahan III

Prentice Steven Strahan III, known as Beau, 51, passed away on October 20, 2026, at home with his family. Born on August 19, 1975, in Mobile, Alabama, to Prentice Steven Strahan, Jr. and Jimmie Starling Strahan. Beau had a passion for life and many interests such as music, art, and plants, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Beau touched the lives of many because he truly wanted happiness for everyone.

Beau was a graduate of W.P. Davidson High School in Mobile, AL. Afterwards, he attended the University of South Alabama, where he completed the Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic program, and he worked as a Paramedic in Mobile, AL until he received his Bachelor of Science in Cardiorespiratory Sciences. He devoted himself to caring for children as a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist, specializing in Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Christy Barnett Strahan; his children, Ocean Jones (Mary) Belle Strahan and his bonus children Emily Robbins, Brandon Collins, and Justin and Bradley Hicks; his grandchildren, Rosalie, Evie, and Marcus Jones; his sisters, Kelly Elizabeth Strahan and Terri Strahan Pounds (Greg). Beau is also survived by his nephew Stephen Hunter Allen, and his nieces Hailie and Madison Wright, his great-niece Charlotte Rossler, and his beloved dog Buddy Floyd.

Beau was preceded in death by his grandparents James & Mildred Starling, Reginald & Ervine Shires, and Prentice Stephen Strahan, Senior, and his dear pets Gator and Ingram.

A celebration of Beau’s life will be held on October 23, 2026, from 12:00 noon to 4 p.m. at Ascension Funeral Home, 1016 Hillcrest Road, Mobile, Alabama 36695. Please wear bright colors. We will be celebrating Beau with his favorite music, stories with friends and family, and food, just as he wanted. We would love for anyone who cared for Beau and his family to attend. In lieu of flowers, we will be creating a GoFundMe to help his wife transition over the next few months through this unexpectedly difficult time. Information about the GoFundMe will be posted on social media once completed.
