Steve Davis

Steve Davis, born in Jackson, Mississippi on September 14th, 1960 to Reginald S. Davis and Shirley A. Bourne, left this world to be with his Lord and Savior on November 28th, 2021. Steve was a cross-country athlete in Kentucky before helping his father with his business, the Little Miss Fryer Company. Steve enlisted into the US Navy in 1977, touring for seven years in the NMCB-133 Seabee unit.Steve was stationed in Guam, Spain, Newfoundland and Gulfport, Mississippi. Steveearned the rank of E-6 Petty Officer Class 2, became a master electrician and expert sniper, keeping America’s defenses safe and secure. He was in the first wave to go into Beirut during the 1979 Lebanon Crisis, and was awarded the Expeditionary Medal and a place in the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Steve left the military on honorable discharge, going on to help constructthe Westinghouse and Nissan plants in Mississippi. During his military service, he met Miriam A. Smith at a veterinarian clinic, both falling in love with each other and marrying on February 20th, 1982. They cherished each other for the rest of his days, and had two children together. Steve was a devoted husband and loving father who put everyone before himself. He is proceeded by his father Reginald Davis and his father in law, Donald Smith. Steve is survived by his wife of 40 years, Miriam Davis, his children Lauren and Jonathan, his siblings Lori Cohen, Wayne Davis and Andrew Bourne, and his mother, Shirley A. Bourne and Ed Bourne. Steve will be laid to rest on December 6that Barrancas National Cemetery at the US Naval Base in Pensacola, FL.
