Teresa, or Dodie, as she was known by family and close friends, was one of the kindest, most generous and caring individuals that you could ever meet. She was very service-oriented, always lending a hand to help and serve others in whatever capacity needed. Her integrity was reflected in every decision she made.
Dodie was the matriarch of her family after her mother passed in 1960. She loved her family dearly and put their needs before her own. Dodie was always there for her nieces and nephews, ready to help as needed. She offered level-headed advice, gave encouragement or provided financial support if it was needed. She didn't judge or chastise, she simply tried to help make the situation better.
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church was Dodie's beloved Church for the last 52+ years, where she served in various capacities, a greeter, an usher, an altar society member and on other committees throughout the years. She took Bulletins, food and called to check on the shut-ins. She took the sick to doctors appointments, added prayer needs when she learned of them and prayed faithfully for those in need. Dodie was selected by her parish to receive the Christ the King Medal in 2019. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her fellow parishioners.
"Aunt Dodie, you are the greatest role model we have ever known. Thank you for your selfless example of loving and serving others in Jesus' name. You have blessed ours and others lives with an impact that will never be matched. We love you and will miss you so very much."
