

Born on September 9, 1951, in Monroe, North Carolina, Allen was the son of the late Marvin and Martha Nell Harrington. Throughout his life, he was known for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, and unwavering love for his family and friends.
Allen was the proud owner and operator of Harrington Concrete and Grading, where he built not only a successful business but also lasting relationships through his dedication and integrity. A longtime member of New Salem Baptist Church, his faith was an important part of his life.
In his free time, Allen found great joy in the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing and had a lifelong passion for working on race cars and motorcycles. Above all, Allen cherished his family. He was a loving father, devoted grandfather, and loyal companion. He will be remembered for his caring heart, kind nature, and genuine compassion for everyone he met. His legacy of hard work, fearlessness, and passion will continue to live on in those whose lives he touched.
Allen is survived by his son, Ethan (Lauren) Harrington; his beloved grandson, Tucker Harrington; and his partner, Frances Baucom.
In addition to his parents, Marvin and Martha Nell "Nell" Harrington, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Patricia Anne Melton, Harold Harrington, and Carol Williams.
Allen's memory will be treasured always by his family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by his kindness and friendship.
