Dear Michael, Tammy, Randy and Angel,
Please accept Nelson's and my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of Angie!
As you may know both our families went to St. Joan of Arc Church and we attended Asheville Catholic High School together.
Angie and I were the very best of friends in high school and through 60 years remained good friends and stayed in touch mostly by telephone.
In high school, we spent lots of nights at her house. Her dear mom Carolyn let me spend several nights with them when I decided to "Run away from Home" at sixteen! I returned to my home after a few days, but I will always appreciate her mom's kindness to me when ever I visited and the kindness of Angie, Carolyn, Tim and Jimmy whenever I visited them.
Angie and I would laugh, listen to records, dance together, cook and never tire of each other's company!
We worked together at Memorial Mission snack shop after school, and working with her was so much fun, because we worked well as a team, took pride in our work and laughed while we worked and did our best to share our smiles with the Mission Hospital staff and visitors of the patients.
Angie was as good a friend as I could have ever wanted! She was there on the first night I met Nelson, who is now my husband! We gazed at the stars on summer nights, and dreamed of our future! Angie had such a great memory! She would remind me of silly situations, we got ourselves into, long after I had forgotten them! Her recanting of silly mischief we got into, meant so much to me because I tended to be serious at
times, and she could always make me laugh! I loved Angie's sense of humor and laughter! I will miss her friendship. I am living in Ecuador, but I will be with you all in spirit for the "Celebration of her Life" on her birthday. Thank you for sharing all the family photographs on this web site. I am praying that as a family you have the strength to cope with your loss of dear Angie. Sincerely, Rebecca Smith Allison
