OBITUARY
Bertha C. Anderkin
May 30, 1921 – April 7, 2021
Bertha Mae Anderkin, 99, of Monroe, North Carolina, transitioned to her Heavenly Home April 7, 2021.
She was born in Rockcastle County, Kentucky on May 30, 1921.She married her husband Roy in Feb,1942, in Charleston South Carolina, Roy preceded her in death. She was also preceded by two grandsons, Shawn and Michael Blanton.
She attended school in Livingston, Kentucky. Following world war II Bertha and Roy moved to Ohio. She retired in 1983 and moved to North Carolina. Following retirement, she had a passion for making porcelain dolls and ceramic figurines.
She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn Blanton, of Fort Worth, Texas and Wanda Gay Burton, of Monroe, North Carolina; three grand children Michelle McCarter, of Fort Worth Texas, David Burton of Monroe, North Carolina and Julie Riggs of Virginia Beach, Virginia; five great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be held at McEwen Funeral Home Friday, April 9, 2021 - visitation will be held at 10:00 AM with the service to follow at 11:00 AM. Pastor Steve Jergil and Pastor Billy Adkins will be officiating. Internment will be at Lakeview Baptist Church, Monroe, North Carolina.
She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and the family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Lakeview Baptist Church Golden Years Ministry. McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe is honored to be serving the Anderkin family.

Bertha, Bitsy, Myrtle and myself enjoyed the fun we had going to lunch and Bible study at Lakeview Baptist. We called ourselves the four musketeers. Just four good friends who liked to have good fun and loved their Lord..
