Betty Lee Carpenter

Betty was born January 18, 1928 to the late Joseph and Laura Newsome in Union County, NC.

Betty is survived by her children, Benny Carpenter (Robin) and Barbara Garves (Eddie).

She is proceeded in death by: her husband Billy Carpenter; her son Bart Carpenter; William Newsome (Thema), Fred Newsome, Selma Carpenter (Zeb), Bernice Wallace (Jim) and Elsie Wallace (Rhonde).

Betty was a huge Braves’ fan. Her time with family was the thing she loved the most, especially watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports.

A visitation was held on Saturday April 16, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Funerals & Cremation, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406.

A second visitation will be held at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, 204 South Main Street, Monroe, NC 28112 on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00 pm Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.
