

Billy Wayne Helms walked into the loving arms of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior on April 30, 2015. He was born in Union County to the late Clayton Woodrow and Minnie Roberta Helms. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Jay Helms. He was also preceded in death by a special brother-in-law, Pastor Leroy Adams, and a special sister-in-law, Betty Funderburk.
He is survived by his wife Terry; two children, son Jeffery Clayton Helms (Heidi) and daughter Kelley Helms Moore (Dan); and four wonderful grandchildren, Jasmine Elaine Helms, Jeffery Clayton Helms Jr., Bethany Danelle Moore and James Edwin Moore; three sisters, Marjorie Plyler (Ben) of Monroe, Shirley Adams of Ruby, SC and Cathy Laney (Bobby) of Waxhaw.
Bill was a Vietnam Veteran and the recipient of a Bronze Star. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and known for his quick wit and unique sense of humor.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Siler Presbyterian Church, with Reverend Bruce Powell officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church following the service. Burial will be private.
Memorials may be made to Siler Presbyterian Building Fund.
