Mr. Bill Hobbs, 81, died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews N.C. Bill was born August 22, 1931 in Union County, son of the late James W. and Sadie Hobbs Helms. Visitation will be 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. Wednesday at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, Services to celebrate his life will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 25, 2012 in the McEwen Colonial Chapel, interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife of 56 years: Mrs. Florence B. Hobbs of the home, two daughters: Lynne Parker of Charlotte N.C., Lori H. White and husband Scott of Matthews N.C., one granddaughter: Piper Lee White of Matthews N.C., two sisters: Janet Shelton and Yvonne Tucker.
