

Mr. Billy Ray Yandle, 81, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from Hospice of Union County. Billy Ray was born November 25, 1933 in Union County, son of the late Warren C. and Lillie Mae Wilkerson Yandle He was also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jean Coley Yandle who died in 1976. Also siblings; Helen Brown, Doris Billingsley, his twin sister Willie Faye Helms, Tommy Yandle, Sam Yandle, Clyde (Hip) Yandle, Warren Yandle Jr. Billy Ray was a graduate of Benton Heights High School, playing basketball and baseball. After high school, he was a high school referee, and avid sports fan, whether attending or just watching games on TV. Billy enjoyed his residence at the beach with family and friends. He was a Charter member of Oakland Baptist Church in Monroe.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 12:30 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. Services to celebrate the life of Billy Ray will be 2:00 P.M. in the McEwen Colonial Chapel with Reverend Roy Barbee officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroe City Cemetery. Survivors include his son; Billy C. Yandle and Fiancé Leann Medlin Broome, special friend and caregiver; Elaine Thomas of Monroe. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Scott Sweeny and Staff, Dr. Gregory Brouse and Staff, Dr. Brent Hutson and Staff at Hospice of Union County.
