Mr. Brady Myrick Parker Sr.

Mr. Brady Myrick Parker, Sr., age 84, passed away Friday morning, (February 28, 2014) in The Hospice of Union County’s McWhorter House located in Monroe. Mr. Parker was born May 6, 1929 in Union County, N.C. a son of the late Mr. Lonnie Columbus Parker and the late Mrs. Jenetta Aldridge Parker. Mr. Parker was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served his country during the Korean War. He was also preceded in death by his first wife: Mrs. Bobbie B. Parker, on September 2, 1973. Mr. Parker is survived by his present wife, Mrs. Jewell Joy Anne Bolton Parker of the home, (one) son: Mr. Brady M. Parker, Jr. and wife Susan of Indian Trail, N.C., (one) daughter: Mrs. Lisa P. Kiger and husband Frank of Hilton Head, S.C., (five) grandchildren: Brady M. Parker, III “Myrick” and wife Jenna of Indian Trail, N.C., Meredith Odom and husband Aaron of Charlotte, N.C., Micah Parker of Los Angeles, California, Cameron Kiger and Carson Kiger both of Hilton Head, S.C., (one) great-grandchild: Brady M. Parker, IV of Indian Trail, N.C., (one) brother: Mr. Wade J. Parker of Brownwood, Texas, (one) sister: Mrs. Helen Morgan of Monroe, North Carolina. The family will receive friends and relatives for visitation, this afternoon (Sunday, March 2, 2014) from 2:00 P.M. until 3:45 P.M. at the Mill Creek Baptist Church, 5417 Morgan Mill Road, Monroe, North Carolina. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Brady Parker will be held at 4:00 P.M., this afternoon (Sunday, March 2, 2014) in the sanctuary of Mill Creek Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Marvin Tyson. Burial, with full military honors, for Mr. Brady Parker will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday morning (March 3, 2014), in the Charlotte Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 7632 Hood Road, Charlotte, N.C. 28215 (phone # 704-536-2374). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Mill Creek Baptist Church, 5417 Morgan Mill Road, Monroe, N.C. 28110 or to Hospice of Union County, 700 West Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, N.C. 28110.
