Brian Brunier Cook, age 78, of Indian Trail, went home to be with the Lord on July 25, 2019.
He was born on March 15, 1941, son of the late Henry and Yvonne Cook. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Gwineau Cook, James Wayne Cook, David Fairchild Cook and John Douglas Cook. Brian is survived by his loving wife, Sara Cook; his daughter, Dana Leigh Smith (Tearl); his son, Brian Eric Cook (Grace Marfori); his grandchildren, Heather Lynn Hyman, Holly Yvonne Hyman, Tiffany Marie Hyman, Kristina Brianne Hyman, April Dawn Hyman, Dan Gallanosa; his great-grandchildren, Evan, Emmarie, Gavin, Landyn, Shelby, Lucy, Silas, Rhys and by his sister, Yvonne Eudy.
Brian loved being with his family, traveling, golfing, and fishing. He was also involved with Boy Scouts of America for many years, earning his Eagle Award as a teenager and later serving as a scoutmaster and commissioner.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 9:30am until 11:00am at Benton Heights Presbyterian Church. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Brian Cook will begin at 11:00am in the church sanctuary. Memorial contributions may be given to Benton Heights Presbyterian Church Building Fund. McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe is honored to serve the Cook family.

Brian, you will truly be missed. I’m gonna miss our little talks and your funny jokes. 😂You was the man! I love how you was with my kids and watching how you would lite up around them! They love their paw paw to death.. and In you’re death you teach them what it is to miss someone. I’m truly blessed to have known you. I can’t be there today but no doubt you’re always be in my thoughts and prayers. This isn’t goodbye it’s see you later.. much love family❤️-Justin aka daddy
